What happens to my thesis when I submit it electronically to ProQuest?

Answer

After you submit your thesis to ProQuest, the following happens:

  1.  Your thesis will become available in Dissertations & Theses Global (linked below), a database that contains approximately 4 million doctoral dissertations and master's theses from universities in 88 countries.
  2.  Your thesis will be uploaded to the Graduates Theses Collection in SHAREOK, UCO's institutional repository (linked below). SHAREOK is indexed by Google, so shortly after upload, your thesis may appear in search results and/or your Google Scholar profile. It is around this point when graduate theses are cataloged and made visible in our library catalog.
  3.  Your thesis will be printed, bound, and cataloged for the UCO Theses & Dissertations Collection in Special Collections & University Archives.

Exception

If you choose to embargo your thesis during the submission process, your thesis will not be available in ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global or SHAREOK until the embargo period expires. A print copy of your thesis will be available in Special Collections & University Archives regardless of embargo.
