How do I choose the best database for my subject?

Answer

The library subscribes to many databases which can sometimes make it difficult to determine which one is the right one to use for your particular research topic.  A good place to start any research project is Central Search, the main search box, which searches the library catalog and many of the databases simultaneously to find relevant books and articles.

You can also consult a Library Subject Guide to look for librarian-suggested resources related to a variety of subjects.

Here is a brief tutorial on understanding and choosing databases.
